Recommendations following a composite or ceramic dental restoration

Following dental treatment, you should not eat until the numbness from the dental anesthetic is completely gone.  This is to avoid biting yourself without realizing it.  The numbness may last 1 to 4 hours.  It is permissible to drink.

If after 48 hours following treatment, you feel that your teeth do not close completely when you eat, a small adjustment is probably needed.  It is important to call us at 514-287-1900 as soon as possible.  A dental restoration that is too high can cause pain while chewing and make your teeth sensitive to cold.
